On Wednesday, August 28, 2024 veteran political journalists Jerry Roberts, host of the local public affairs show Newsmakers, and Josh Molina, host of the Santa Barbara Talks podcast, in partnership with TV Santa Barbara, will moderate livestreamed Forums with candidates in two Santa Barbara City Council races.
District One incumbent Alejandra Gutierrez and challenger Wendy Santamaria will appear on the broadcast starting at 5:30 p.m. and then at 6:45 p.m. Oscar Gutierrez, who holds the District 3 council seat, will be on the broadcast with challenger Tony Becerra.
Both Candidate Forums will be live streamed across all TV Santa Barbara online platforms, starting at 5:30 p.m. The Candidate Forums will be rebroadcast on TVSB's community television channels, 17 and 71, through election eve and will include a Spanish-language version. TV Santa Barbara provides multilingual closed captioning for all new programming.
