Evan Lovett is the creator of social media mainstay L.A. in a Minute and the host of the podcast In a Minute with Evan Lovett, which is only a year old and has 10,000 weekly listeners. Lovett shows that, indeed, anybody can have a podcast – but what goes into the creation of the podcast on both a macro and daily basis will determine the level of success.

Podcasting is a straight-forward exercise. With a nominal investment, anybody can do it. So what makes a podcast successful? How can a podcast be differentiated from the 192,000 active podcasts in the United States? In a Minute with Evan Lovett is an example of such a podcast. With 10,000 weekly listeners to a podcast that is only a year old, Lovett shows that, indeed, anybody can have a podcast – but what goes into the creation of the podcast on both a macro and daily basis will determine the level of success.

Beginning with research on proper equipment, sound, and production, continuing with a visualization of long-term outlook and preparation and execution of each specific episode, Lovett laid the groundwork for success months before recording a show. These aspects are at the core of why In a Minute with Evan Lovett is resonating with audiences. However, there are always obstacles and challenges in the podcast world, and In a Minute with Evan Lovett faced disheartening moments along the way. Difficulties recording, production shortcomings, content voids, and the transition to video were specific areas where problem-solving was paramount because as always, the Show Must Go On. And with In a Minute with Evan Lovett, the show continues to Grow On – each week reaching additional listeners, and always managing to evolve while staying true to the foundation established from the show’s inception.

Tickets are free for TV Santa Barbara, $20.00 per person for general admission and seating is limited to 60 people. The event will take place at 1219 State Street, inside of the Community Environmental Council Building and home to TV Santa Barbara’s downtown video/ podcast center.
